This was Minolta's first SLR type camera. Oddly, according to Wikipedia the SR-1 was released the following year. while the SR-1 was the budget version, the SR-2 was premium. The SR-2 has featurs we would expect of cameras to day, so for a 1959 cameras it is very "usable" today.
