Originally released as a non-G lens - till it was promoted to the Minolta 300mm F2.8 APO G HS. Later a silent wave motor was added to the lens to make it the 300 F2.8 APO G D SSM.
Flawless optically, big, heavy, expensive and a bit hard to find.
